The Gekko Akitas have participated in the

AKC Museum of The Dog's Guest Dog of the Week program 3 times since 2011. We are very proud of this participation, which allows museum visitors to get an "up close and personal" experience with our noble breed. A realistic view of Akita ownership is stressed, and educational resources are provided to those interested. Various genders, ages and sizes were in attendance this year: Roger our almost 4-year old male, puppy Punkin who is Roger's daughter at 4 months, young adult females Rodeo and Paisley at approximately 17 months.
