About us and our Akitas
We believe in a high quality of life for our Akitas, and we own few, 5-6 usually. We feel we can better care for and appreciate a smaller number. Each one gets plenty of love and attention, along with long walks in the country, lots of free run time in our large fenced area, and a great diet! Are they spoiled? Some would say yes, others would say no, just well cared for. If they are in fact spoiled, they deserve it! They are wonderful creatures, and they know their place in the family.

Breeding occasionally, showing often. Our
dogs are 99% owner-handled by Monica. When someone asks if one of our particular dogs is a "show dog", or "just a pet" -- we have to answer yes to both!

A wonderful temperament is the most important virtue an Akita can possess. We all live in a world that is increasingly intolerant of aggression, and more litigious than ever. Breeding good-natured Akitas is imperative -- followed of course by providing lots of socialization, training, care, and LOVE!

None of our Akitas are sold to brokers or
pet-shops. Each prospective puppy buyer must submit with us the Potential Puppy Buyer Questionnaire, which is a series of questions
to best match the buyer with the new puppy.
It is also, quite frankly, intended to screen individuals to determine if this will be a suitable home for one of our Akitas. We love our dogs very much and there is a lot of work involved in raising Akitas -- we want pups to
go to the best homes possible.

All of the Akitas we breed are certified clear
of hip dysplasia, luxating patellae and elbow dysplasia through OFA, and clear of heritable eye diseases through annual examination through CERF.
